Topkapi L Tablecloth red

In the design of the Topkapi range, which was created in 1989, Beauvillé, who are located in Ribeauvillé in Alsace, took inspiration from a museum piece from the first half of the 19th century. The collection was named after the Topkapi palace in Istanbul, where there were some curtains in the Sultan's throne room which had a similar pattern to the collection. In their tone-on-tone colouring, Topkapi reminds one of silk damask, which was popular at the end of the 17th century as a material used for curtains and wall hangings. 100% cotton, Washable at 40 °C. Table cloth dimensions 170 x 265 cm. The manufacture of printed textiles has a long tradition in Alsace. Even in 1759, this status of this craft was raised by a royal decree by Louis XV to a prestigious, privileged industry. Traditionally, top-quality cotton is woven to a mesh with a lightly roughened surface, which makes the colours particularly brilliant.
